  • Ontario Senior of the Year Nominations Now Open Hey Elliot Lakers!It's that time of year again, time to submit your nominations for the Province of Ontario's Senior of the Year Award! Since 1994 the Senior of the Year Award honours one outstanding local senior in each municipality in Ontario who after the age of 65 has enriched the social, cultural or civic life of the community. Nomination Info:The nominee must be: At least 65 years of age A resident of Ontario A living person who has made their community a better place to live Nominated by the City of Elliot Lake Seniors who qualify for this award may have contributed to any number of fields such as the arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness and humanitarian activities.
  • City of Elliot Lake Hires New Chief Building Official We are pleased to announce the appointment of William McCaffrey as the new Chief Building Official (CBO), effective April 22, 2025. With over 25 years of experience in the construction and regulatory field, William brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership in the application of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and various other regulatory requirements.
  • Boil Water Advisory Lifted for 12 - 22 and 48 - 50 Phillip Walk, 36 Ontario and 5 Manitoba Please be advised that all bacteriological samples taken in this area have returned from the laboratory showing no evidence of contamination. We have notified the Algoma Health unit and as a result, the boil water advisory issued for this location is now rescinded.
  • Significant Weather Event Cleanup still underway Earlier this week we announced that the City streets and sidewalks were deemed to be in a “state of repair” due to the significant Ice Storm which occured on the weekend. Due to last nights additional Freezing Rain we would like to remind the public that the streets and sidewalks in the City are still in a “state of repair” at this time.
  • Artist applications now open for the Summer in the Park Concert Series Calling all local musical acts! The City of Elliot Lake is now accepting applications for the 2025 Summer in the Park Concert Series! Presented by Seidel's BrandSource Home Furnishings The Summer in the Park Concert Series is a series of 4 free concerts for everyone to come and enjoy throughout the summer months. All concerts will be played at Westview Park.

  • Boil Water Advisory for 12 – 22 and 48 – 50 Phillip Walk, 36 Ontario Avenue and 5 Manitoba Road A Boil Water Advisory is being issued for 12 – 22 and 48 – 50 Phillip Walk, 36 Ontario and 5 Manitoba; Whenever any kind of repair or construction on the water supply system either planned or an emergency, there is a risk of soil or other contaminants entering the water supply. Although this risk is very low, a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) is issued to all residents, businesses and public facilities located along this area of the water supply system.
  • Burn Permits Now Available City of Elliot Lake residents are permitted to have a campfire in approved backyard fire pits between April 1 and October 31 each year however, you must have a Burn Permit before you may have a campfire.   • Water Shut-Off Notice for water main repairs for 12 - 22 Phillip Walk, 36 Ontario and 5 Manitoba beginning April 1 at 8am Please be advised the water service in this area will be turned off Tuesday April 1st, 2025 from 8:00 am and will be restored upon completion. Occupants may experience reduced water pressure for a temporary period once the water supply has been restored.
  • Significant Weather Event Update The City of Elliot Lake is currently working to clean up after a Significant Weather Event. Public Works crews are working diligently, but it may take longer than normal to ensure public safety and that the roadways, sidewalks, and transit bus stops meet normal maintenance standards.
