  • Provincial Funding Announcements for 2 City Projects On Friday, MPP Bill Rosenberg joined Mayor Wannan and Councilor Seidel in Council Chambers for two exciting announcements. The City of Elliot Lake will be receiving provincial funding for two separate projects.
  • Panel Mine Road Closure Extended until Friday, July 25 Please be aware, the closure of Panel Mine Road has been extended until Friday, July 25th This closure is being done to allow BHP to perform maintenance to the Power Line from the corner of Panel Mine Road and Highway 108 to the Panel Mine Site.Barricades will be in place, please respect any and all traffic signs or directions given while BHP are in the area.
  • Rogers Arena Update - July 15th, 2025 At the July 14th Council meeting, Council members received an update from City Staff and Dr. Tingley in regards to repair efforts at the Rogers Arena.
  • Bike Rodeo postponed Please Be Advised, unfortunately due to the forecast of a severe thunderstorm tomorrow afternoon the decision has been made to postpone the Kid's Bike Rodeo for the safety of all involved. The Bike Rodeo will instead be held on August 29th.

  • Portion of Fire Tower Lookout Closed July 12 and 13 for Bike Race Please Be Advised, a portion of the Fire Tower Lookout Parking Lot as well as the lookout cupola will be closed to the public during this weekend’s Dufour Downhill Bike Race.   • New Date for Kid's Bike Rodeo - July 16th Join us at Kiwanis Park on July 16th for our annual Kids Bike Rodeo! Kids aged 5-12 will have an exciting hands-on opportunity to learn and practice essential bike-handling and traffic skills from instructors in a fun atmosphere! Join Algoma Public Health and the Ontario Provincial Police - North East Region and learn about the importance of bike and road safety and how you can prevent injuries before they happen.
