Cemetery

The City of Elliot Lake maintains Woodlands Cemetery.

Our Clerks department keeps a database of all reserved plots and information on all those interred. The cemetery is non-denominational and has areas set aside for regular plots, cremation plots, infant plots and niches.

You can find Woodlands Cemetery on the corner of Ottawa Avenue and Lisbon Road. Woodlands Cemetery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day.

Scheduling a Burial

Scheduling a burial: We are here to assist you in making arrangements for your loved one.

To schedule a burial, please provide the Clerks Department with the following:
• A completed Burial Order Form
• The original cremation certificate.
• Payment for the "Open and Close" service. For pricing, please refer to our user fees by-law.

Once you have these items ready, please email the Clerks Department to coordinate a time for the service.

Purchasing a plot or a niche

The City offers a variety of plots and niches to suit your needs, and we invite you to meet with us to discuss your options.

Please make an appointment with the Clerks Department at City Hall, where our team will guide you through the selection process and help you navigate the next steps.

Annual Cleanup

We remove any seasonal or withered decorations that residents may have placed on their plots by October 31.
