Committees and Boards

The City of Elliot Lake has many committees and boards that support and guide our community. Committees can be made up of members of Council, the Mayor, City staff, members of the public and community officials.

Municipal Governance Committees

Our municipal committees that help govern the City of Elliot Lake include:

The Committee of the Whole is replacing Standing Committees for a 6 month trial period. All members of Council sit on the Committee of the Whole.

When vacancies occur, we look for passionate and civic-minded individuals to serve as appointees on the following civic boards, committees, and working groups in Elliot Lake:

The Accessibility Advisory Committee meets monthly, 2nd Wednesday of the month,  at 4:00 pm in the City Hall Committee Room.

The Economic Development Advisory Committee is on a one-year trial period of Town Hall Style meetings held quarterly.

The Elliot Lake Museum Advisory Board meets on a quarterly basis, the last Tuesday of February, May, August, and November, at 5:00PM in the City Hall Committee Room.

The board is comprised of five (5) members of the public and two (2) assigned Councillors of the Elliot Lake City Council. The Museum Curator is the staff resource and secretary to the board. 

The Elliot Lake Museum Advisory Board provides guidance on prospective heritage projects and programs while serving as a liaison between museum staff and the community. Its role is to ensure that the Elliot Lake Museum (ELM) effectively fulfills its mission, serving the public in a meaningful way.

The Elliot Lake Museum is dedicated to engaging and educating our community and visitors by collecting, preserving, interpreting, and sharing our ongoing heritage and history in an inclusive capacity.

Interested in joining the Elliot Lake Museum Advisory Board?

The Elliot Lake Museum Advisory Board currently has no vacant seats.
However, applications are accepted on a continuous intake basis and can be submitted through our online form.

The Police Services Board is responsible for the provision of police services in the Municipality, pursuant to the Ontario Police Services Act.

The Committee is comprised of two (2) members of Council, one (1) member of the public appointed by Council and two (2) members appointed by the Province of Ontario.

Please ensure you state your committee, working group, or board of preference and you include a brief résumé noting details about your skills and experience that you would bring to the position.
