Rogers Arena Update - July 29, 2025

At the July 28th Elliot Lake Council Meeting, City staff provided an update on the Rogers Arena project to clarify its current status, outline remaining work, and set realistic expectations for timelines and next steps.

Interior repairs have been temporarily paused and will resume once foundation work is complete. That work is progressing well and is expected to conclude by the end of August. While this marks a significant milestone, additional work will still be required before the facility can safely reopen.

On May 26th, Council approved a Life Safety Audit of Rogers Arena to help staff identify and prioritize necessary repairs after the foundation is finished. Staff have received a draft of the report and are reviewing its recommendations before presenting options to Council in August.

The City remains committed to reopening Rogers Arena safely and efficiently and will continue to provide regular updates as the project progresses.
