Rogers Arena Project Update – October 29, 2025

During the October 27th session of council, City Staff provided council with an update on the Rogers Arena Project.

 

Foundation work at the Rogers Arena is expected to be completed by the end of the month, with exterior wall reconstruction and bracing scheduled for completion by mid-December. Exterior wall insulation and finish construction is set to begin in mid-January 2026, pending final design approvals. Once exterior work is complete, electrical upgrades within the arena will begin with North Engineering overseeing the upgrades. Designs for the new ventilation system are also underway with a contingency plan being put in place to maintain the September 2026 occupancy date in the case of any equipment delivery delays that may arise.

 

Further design work for the new building layout and design is ongoing utilizing a new 3d model of the current building. This model will be used to help complete the design phase and clearly communicate any design changes to the project team as well as Council. The project team is also reviewing possible upgrades to the lobby area, rink boards, and bleachers. Finally, the project team has also been in contact with the Rogers organization in order to begin laying out any necessary upgrades for items such as I.T. infrastructure, Signage, Communications and more.

 

A final design package, including an updated budget and schedule, will be presented to Council by the end of November.
