Rogers Arena Project Update - February 25, 2026

At Monday night’s meeting of Council, Mr. Chris Perry of Perry & Perry Architects presented an update to Council regarding the ongoing repairs at Rogers Arena.

 

Repairs at the Arena remain on budget and on schedule with an expected opening date of September 1. Current work being performed includes the installation of new Cross Bracing with the new Knee Bracing on the outside walls expected to begin installation next week. After the Knee Bracing is installed the temporary shoring towers supporting the roof will gradually be removed, this work is expected to be completed by the end of April.

 

Additionally, the ice plant in the arena was inspected and tested recently. The test revealed no major issues and the plant is expected to be ready for ice making beginning August 1. Demolition of the lobby and changeroom area is nearing completion with work on new plumbing expected to begin next week. New walls and interior work will begin after the plumbing work has been completed.

 

Lastly, the new bleachers have been ordered and are expected to arrive on site in late May/early June.
