Rogers Arena Project Update - December 10, 2025

The City of Elliot Lake would like to provide residents with an update on the current status of the Rogers Arena Project as we head into the holiday season. During the December 8, 2025 Elliot Lake City Council meeting, City Staff as well as Council members received an update regarding the project from Mr. Chris Perry of Perry + Perry Associates.

The repairs being performed on the trusses and arena columns are now complete along with the repairs to the foundation and installation of the micro piles. Exterior wall framing and bracing has now begun and is expected to be completed prior to the end of the December. Running concurrently is the demolition of interior structures to make room for the upgrades to bleachers, players benches, dressing rooms and other interior finishes. Project coordinators are also considering removing areas of the floor which are currently made of asphalt and replacing those sections with concrete flooring for additional stability. 

Other areas of the project currently underway include the Air Handling system which is now finished the design phase and the Bidding/Contracting phase is underway. The new design and coordination for the updated electrical system is also well underway.

During the presentation Mr. Perry showcased a number of renders and floorplan options. These renderings and floorplans have not yet been approved however they do offer a glimpse as to what the arena may look like once the project has been completed.
