Pride Month 2025 Proclamation

This morning, Deputy Mayor Flintoff was joined by members of the local LGBTQ2SI community to raise the pride flag at Elliot Lake City Hall and proclaim June 2025 as Pride Month in Elliot Lake.

The Proclamation reads:

WHEREAS Elliot Lake is an inclusive, diverse and welcoming city for everyone;

AND WHEREAS lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, 2-spirit and Intersex (LGBTQ2SI) citizens work and live with Pride in Elliot Lake;

AND WHEREAS lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, 2-spirit and Intersex citizens make important contributions to our city;

AND WHEREAS lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, 2-spirit and Intersex citizens of Elliot Lake have historically faced significant challenges as they strive toward equality;

AND WHEREAS Elliot Lake welcomes tourists, visitors and new residents regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity;

AND WHEREAS all citizens of Elliot Lake take Pride in our diversity and celebrate our differences

NOW THEREFORE, I, Charlie Flintoff, Deputy Mayor of the City of Elliot Lake hereby proclaim June 2025 as “PRIDE MONTH” in the City of Elliot Lake.
