TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Elliot Lake will hold a public meeting on the 14th day of April 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at 45 Hillside Drive North and/or by Zoom.
Any person interested may, by way of signed, written submission, provide comments on the proposed Amendments. Such submission shall be accepted by the City Clerk prior to the Hearing by April 9th, 2025 and such written submissions shall be available for inspection by any interested person. The purpose of this public meeting is to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act for the properties municipally known as 45 Oakland Boulevard in the City of Elliot Lake.
The effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the affected properties from the ‘Tourist Highway Commercial (C2)’, ‘Tourist Highway Commercial (C2-1)’, and ‘Open Space (O)’ Zones to the ‘Tourist Highway Commercial (C2-X)’, and ‘Open Space (O)’ Zones. The special exception will permit a building supply outlet, builder’s contractor yard, open storage, and include provisions for open storage use.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Council of the City of Elliot Lake on the proposed Amendment, you must make a written request to the City of Elliot Lake.
IF A PERSON or PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the City of Elliot Lake to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Elliot Lake before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON or PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at the Public Meeting, or make written submissions to the City of Elliot Lake before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
