Local Government Week Proclamation

This year, October 19-25 is being recognized as Local Government Week in Ontario in order to recognize and celebrate those that help make local Government run. In support of this, at last week's Council meeting Mayor Wannan proclaimed Oct. 19-25 Local Government Week in Elliot Lake.

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS October 19 to 25, 2025 is Local Government Week in Ontario, an opportunity to reflect on the vital services delivered by municipal governments;

AND WHEREAS municipal governments play a vital role in helping to define the character, priorities, physical make up, and quality of life of communities across Ontario;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Andrew Wannan, on behalf of the City of Elliot Lake, do hereby join with partners such as the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) in acknowledging and celebrating the work of local municipalities by proclaiming October 19 to 25, 2025, as ‘Local Government Week’ in Elliot Lake.
