Extreme Weather Event Update Saturday March 21st
Focused efforts on snow clearing in the city continues. The Public Works crew have been working around the clock since the initial snowfall last Sunday but unfortunately, almost daily snowfalls have slowed progress. This evening’s forecast is projecting an additional 5-10 cm.
Snow clearing on transit routes has become the priority, with the goal of having scheduled transit service back in operation as soon as possible.
Mayor, Council and the CAO would like to thank Terry Gillingham and his crew for their dedication and tireless efforts during this event.
The City would appreciate any assistance citizens can offer with regard to fire hydrant clearing. If you are able and willing, your help would be welcomed. Limit use to shovels and snowblowers only please as tractors or heavy equipment may damage the hydrant.
Please stay tuned to the city’s Social Media and News site for further updates.
