Elliot Lake Fire Department responds to a fire at 197 Westhill Rd
Fire Chief John Thomas announced today that on Wednesday April 22, 2026 at 10:43 hrs, the Elliot Lake Fire Department received a 911 call for a working fire at 197 Westhill Rd.
Upon arrival on scene, the fire department crew reported smoke visible. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. The home sustained extensive smoke damage throughout.
One occupant was transported to hospital. Two family pets were lost.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
