Deputy Mayor Flintoff presents to Provincial Committee

Today, Deputy Mayor Flintoff attended the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs 2026 Pre-Budget Consultations held in Sudbury. The goal of his presentation was to request that the Committee make recommendations to increase the allocation to the Province’s Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund for this coming year. This Fund allocates funds for the repair and upgrade of existing sport and recreation facilities. The presentation outlined the City’s current arena repair situation and the impacts that the facility has on the health and wellbeing of the community.

The announcement on funding available will be made at the conclusion of the Provincial Budget preparation process.
