Controlled Blasting Taking Place this week on Nordic Mine Road

Wendell Farquhar Trucking is currently undertaking a project for the improvement of a BHP closed mine site, (formerly known as Rio Algom/ Nordic Mine Site). The Nordic Mine Site is located 130 Nordic Mine Road, Elliot Lake, Ontario.

The purpose of this project is to build a pump house to support environmental protection and closure objectives. The project requires that drilling and blasting be undertaken to facilitate these improvements. Work will only be done during daylight hours tentatively starting the week of September 28, 2026. All blasting will be controlled and monitored to ensure no damage occurs to any surrounding infrastructures.
