Beach Lifeguard Supervision Resumes Friday, July 17

With air quality conditions having improved, lifeguard supervision has resumed at both Spruce Beach and Spine Beach.

Lifeguards will be on duty daily from 12 pm to 7 pm

As air quality conditions can change quickly due to wildfire smoke, residents are encouraged to continue monitoring local conditions and take appropriate precautions. Follow the recommendations of Algoma Public Health, watch for symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, or irritation of the eyes or throat, and adjust outdoor activities based on current air quality conditions, especially if you are more vulnerable to the effects of poor air quality.

The City will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates should air quality worsen or service levels need to change. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our staff and community safe.
