Elliot Lake’s Uranium Heritage Days is a lively annual festival celebrating the city's mining history and community spirit with music, entertainment, and family-friendly events.

Friday, June 26th - Food Trucks will be in Upper Plaza parking lot for the Street Dance

Saturday, June 27th - Food Trucks will be at Spruce Beach (Lakeshore Dr.) from Noon to 7pm

Sunday, June 28th - Food Trucks will be at Collins Hall (120 Hillside Dr. N.) from Noon to 7pm

Monday, June 29th - Food Trucks will be at Kiwanis Park (25 Dieppe Ave.) from 10am to 6pm

Tuesday, June 30th - Food Trucks will be at Westview Park (462 Highway 108) from 10am to 6pm

Wednesday, July 1st - Food Trucks will be at Spruce Beach from Noon to 3pm and Westview Park from 6pm to dusk.

"Elliot Lake Through My Eyes" Photo Contest - FREE - All ages

Calling all photographers! Throughout Heritage Days (June 25 – July 1), community members are invited to capture and submit photos that showcase the beauty, spirit, and charm of Elliot Lake. From scenic landscapes and wildlife to local landmarks and community moments, we want to see the city through your eyes!

Submit your best shot online before 11:59pm on July 1st for a chance to win! Entries are open to all ages, with separate categories for Youth (17 and under) and Adults (18+). Winning photos will be featured on the City of Elliot Lake's social media and promotional materials.

School's Out for the Summer Party - FREE - Ages 7-18

4pm-6pm - Niigaaniin Enji-maawinjidiyaang Indigenous Friendship Center (2 Veterans Way)

Kick off Heritage Days with a bang! Join Shaylen and Kelsey at the Indigenous Friendship Centre for their School's Out for the Summer Party; a fun celebration of freedom for ages 7-18, with something for everyone to enjoy. The perfect way to start the week off right!

Elliot Lake Historical Society's Presents: Dan Kachur's Lumber Camp Book Launch - FREE - All ages

7pm-9pm - Collins Hall

The Elliot Lake Historical Society is hosting a Discovery Event - Speakers Series with author Dan Kachur's launch of his new book Blind River, Iron Bridge and Little White River; Old Lumber Camps, Volume 1, documenting his years of exploring the bush. Featuring a talk from the author and a presentation of old lumber camps in the Elliot Lake Area. All are welcome!

Elliot Lake Arts Club Workshop: Polymer Clay Pins - FREE - All ages

10am-12pm – Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre
1pm-3pm – Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre

Get creative with colourful polymer clay and design your own custom pin to take home! Participants will learn how to shape and assemble adorable pet or animal-themed pins, with plenty of room to create something completely unique if inspiration strikes. Whether you want to make a cat, dog, frog, dragon, or your favourite animal, this fun hands-on workshop is perfect for all skill levels.

All materials and supplies will be provided, and instructors will be available to help bring your ideas to life. Participants are encouraged to preregister to ensure there are enough seats and clay available for each session.

Ishkode Hangout - FREE - Ages 7-12

4pm-6pm - Niigaaniin Enji-maawinjidiyaang Indigenous Friendship Center

Kids ages 7–12 are invited to Ishkode Hangout, happening from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Niigaaniin Enji-maawinjidiyaang Indigenous Friendship Centre as part of Elliot Lake’s Heritage Days Festival. This free program offers a fun and welcoming space for youth to take part in games, activities, and free play designed to support friendship, connection, and positive social development.

Elliot Lake Heritage Days Street Dance - PAID, 19+ EVENT

6:30pm-11:30pm - Upper Plaza

Get ready for an unforgettable night of pop, throwback hits, and dancefloor anthems at the 2026 Annual Street Dance at the Upper Plaza! The night is headlined by Coleman Hell, with cover band ABBAMANIA bringing the iconic disco-pop energy, and an opening act to be announced. Come sing, dance, and celebrate with your community - this is one night you won't want to miss!

Calling all young scientists! The Science Mission Escape Room is coming to Collins Hall on June 27th, with three live missions throughout the day.

Step into Save Montserrat; an immersive simulation where teams take on roles as weather specialists, volcanologists, communications officers, and environmental engineers to save a disaster-struck island. With lives on the line and the clock ticking, can your team rise to the challenge?

For one day, Collins Hall becomes mission control. Students take on real roles--scientists, engineers, communicators--and work against the clock to protect an island in crisis. It's a one-of-a-kind, screen-free STEM experience unlike anything else in Canada.

Elliot Lake Arts Club Workshop: Upcycled Coasters - FREE - All ages

10:00am-12:00pm - Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre

Discover how everyday materials can be transformed into something creative, practical, and beautiful! Inspired by the tradition of handmade rag rugs, this hands-on workshop will teach participants how to turn recycled t-shirts into colourful coasters or hot plates to use at home or give as gifts. All supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own favourite old t-shirts to personalize your project!

Kids' Yoga in the Park - FREE - Ages 6-12

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to roll out their mats and join certified instructor Stephanie Byard for a fun, energetic yoga session at Westview Park! A great way to get moving and enjoy the outdoors during Heritage Days.

Calling all yoga enthusiasts! Join Stephanie Byard for an hour-long guided outdoor session at Westview Park, open to all ages and ability levels. Beginner, advanced, and chair yoga adaptations will be offered; everyone is welcome! Just bring your mat or chair and enjoy a peaceful practice surrounded by nature.

Touch-A-Truck Fire Hall Tour - FREE - All ages

2pm-5pm - Elliot Lake Fire Department

Come join the local fire department as they open up the fire hall for tours and a Touch-A-Truck experience during Elliot Lake’s Heritage Days! From exploring the fire trucks up close to learning more about emergency response and fire safety, this interactive event is perfect for truck-loving kids, safety-minded parents, and anyone curious about how the department operates. Meet local firefighters, check out the equipment, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the important work they do to keep the community safe.

Coureurs de Bois Community Hike - FREE - Ages 18+

10:00am-11:30am - Scotiabank Parking Lot

Join the Coureurs de Bois for a guided hike through Elliot Lake's trails! Hikes will be weather dependent and 1.5 hours in length. The route will be determined by the hike leaders on the day of the hike and will be over varied terrain.

Participants should note:

  • No animals permitted.
  • Hike departs at 10:00am sharp.
  • Participants must be 12 years and older.
  • Sturdy footwear is required (no sandals).
  • Bring water and a snack.
  • Long sleeves, long pants, hats, and bug spray are recommended.

BikeFest - FREE - Ages 17 and under

10:00am-2:00pm - Kiwanis Park

Join 108 Lifestyle and Sporting Goods, Jack's Ski and Bike Shack, Algoma Public Health, and the Ontario Provincial Police for a fun-filled Bike Rodeo at Kiwanis Park, celebrating youth recreation and bike safety!

Take on the obstacle course, learn hand signals, get your helmet checked, and hit the pump track - plus free bike tune-ups sponsored by Jack's Ski and Bike Shack and 108 Lifestyle and Sporting Goods. Cool off with freezies generously donated by Nathaniel and Maggie's No Frills!

BHP Closed Panel Mine Site Tour - FREE - All ages

9:00am-12:30pm - Collins Hall

Celebrate Elliot Lake Heritage Days with a guided tour of the closed Panel Mine site on Tuesday, June 30th from 9AM to approximately 12:30PM.

Sponsored and hosted by BHP, this free tour offers a rare “behind-the-scenes” look at the decommissioned mine, mill, water-covered tailings management area, and more—highlighting the site’s ongoing environmental rehabilitation efforts.

Please note:

  • Limited capacity; reserve your seat through our online form or email the museum.
  • Restroom facilities available midway through the tour. 
  • Waiver and photo release form must be signed to participate.
  • Participants must wear proper clothing (preferably long pants and sleeves) and footwear (covered shoes, no sandals).

Come out and connect with your community at the Community Club Event at Westview Park! Local clubs are gathering to put on a fun-filled afternoon featuring lawn games, a barbeque, dance lessons, and more. A great opportunity to discover what our local clubs are all about! More info to come!


Sharing Circle and Hide Pouch Making Class - FREE - All ages

1pm-2pm - Westview Park 

Join Stacy Owl of the Niigaaniin Indigenous Friendship Centre for a sharing circle and hide leather pouch making class! Connect with community members of all ages through craft and storytelling in this meaningful and hands-on experience. Materials are limited, stories are not!

Aki Learning - FREE - Ages 7-12

4pm-6pm - Niigaaniin Enji-maawinjidiyaang Indigenous Friendship Center

Children ages 7-12 are invited to join Aki Learning, an interactive evening focused on Anishinaabe culture, traditional teachings, and practical life skills. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and guided learning experiences, participants will have the opportunity to connect with Indigenous knowledge, explore cultural traditions, and build valuable everyday skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Canada Day Park Run - FREE - All ages

9am-11am - Sheriff's Creek

Kick off Canada Day morning with a free timed 5K at the Sheriff Creek Wildlife Sanctuary! The Elliot Lake parkrun is part of a global movement happening every Saturday - and this special Canada Day edition is open to everyone, whether you're running, jogging, walking, volunteering, or just cheering on the sidelines!

Beach Party - FREE - All ages

12pm-3pm - Spruce Beach

Close out Heritage Days in style at the annual Beach Party at Spruce Beach! Enjoy cake, face painting, a bubble station, beach games, an interactive community art mural, and so much more. A perfect Canada Day celebration for the whole family; come soak up the sun and the community spirit!

Included in the activities is a Scavenger Hunt hosted by the Coureurs de Bois for children ages 4-12.


Summer Concert in the Park - FREE - All ages - Sponsored by Seidel's Brandsource

Finish Heritage Days the right way! Join us at Westview Park for the kick-off to our Summer Concert Series sponsored by Seidel's Brandsource.

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy some local musical talent leading up to the fireworks display at dusk. 


Fireworks - FREE - All ages

Dusk - Launched from Elliot Lake near North Industrial area

Our annual Canada Day fireworks display begins at dusk (typically 10:00-10:15pm). Pick your favourite spot to watch or join us at Westview Park for a front-row view. The perfect end to an incredible week! 

For those that cannot join the celebration in person we will be livestreaming the Fireworks on the City's Facebook page.
