Municipal Law Enforcement Officers enforce the City's By-laws such as noise, clean yards, animal control, parking, property standards, and snow and ice by proactively patrolling as well as responding to citizen complaints during the hours of operation.
The City's first priority in enforcement work is education. Wherever possible, staff work with residents to resolve violations by achieving compliance, ensuring that steps are taken to resolve the initial violation.
The Municipal Enforcement Policy was designed to provide guidance to Staff, elected officials and the general public regarding by-law enforcement policies and practices in the receipt of complaints and initiation of investigation and enforcement proceedings related to regulatory by-laws of the City of Elliot Lake.
