Elliot Lake Winterfest is a fun-filled annual celebration of the season, featuring outdoor activities, entertainment, and community events for all ages. 


Check back in January 2027 for details on the next Winterfest schedule and events!

2026 Winterfest

Winterfest 2026

2026's weekend of winter-filled-fun for the whole family took place on Thursday, February 5th through to Sunday, February 8th.

Check out the event schedule below for more info on what to expect for future Winterfest Festivals:

All Weekend

Secondary Student Art Exhibition presented by the Elliot Lake Arts Club

Visit the Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre (14 Elizabeth Walk) any day between 10:00am and 4:00pm to check out a special Secondary Student Art Exhibition presented by the Elliot Lake Arts Club.

This exhibition will feature artwork from the budding talents at both Elliot Lake Secondary School and École secondaire Villa Française des Jeunes.

The Secondary Student Art Exhibition features the works from students grades 9 through 12, with a variety of themes, styles, and media.

The Exhibition will launch for Winterfest Weekend and extend through the month of February. Don't miss the opportunity to check out the works from Elliot Lake's up-and-coming young artists!

Thursday, February 5th

Glow in the Snow Dance hosted by ELIS

Glow in the Snow Dance

Looking for something for the kids on Thursday Night? Bring them down to the Collins Hall  for a glow-in-the-dark Winter Wonderland youth dance hosted by the Elliot lake Intermediate School!

$5 entry fee. 

 

Canteen selling cotton candy, hot dogs, popcorn, chips, chocolate, glow toys, and more!

 

Kinder from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Grade 1-3 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Grades 4-6 from 7:30pm - 9:00pm

Friday, February 6th

Elliot Lake Museum Trivia Night

ELM Trivia Feb 7

Come test your knowledge on a variety of topics including some local history for your chance to be named Elliot Lake's next trivia champs!

Location: Moose Lodge, 26 Oakland Blvd

Times: Doors open at 6:00pm. Trivia begins at 7:00pm. Bar open from 6:00pm-11:30pm (cash only).

Teams: Up to 8 players per team.

Cost: $80 per team

Glow in the Dark Outdoor Skate

Grab your skates and get ready for Glow in the Dark Skating at the Outdoor Rink in Kiwanis Park from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Skate to the music, enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, and light up the night with free glow sticks while supplies last. Bring your friends and family for a fun night on the ice!

Full Circle Event Co. will be on site selling food and drinks. Don't miss out!

Saturday, February 7th

Winterfest Breakfast hosted by the Masonic Lodge

The Masons will be holding a breakfast to help kick off day 2 of Winterfest!

Head over to Heritage Hall (171 Spruce Ave) and enjoy a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, tea, and coffee.

The breakfast will be from 8:00am to 10:00am and will be $12 per person.

Drop-in Paper-Making Craft hosted by the Elliot Lake Arts Club

Drop-by the Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre (14 Elizabeth Walk) between 10:00am and 2:00pm to take part in a free paper-making tutorial led by the Elliot Lake Arts Club.

Learn how to make your own paper with simple materials you can find around the house. This craft teaches you a great way to recycle and upcycle while creating beautiful things.

All ages are welcome. Learn, create, and take home your hand-made craft!

While you're there, take part in the Winter Village I-Spy Hunt to win prizes! Sunday, February 8th is the final opportunity to participate with the prize draw taking place at 3:00pm.

Model Railroad Club Open House

Drop-by the Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre (14 Elizabeth Walk) between 10:00am and 2:00pm to check out the model trains and tracks prepared by the Elliot Lake Model Railroad Club.

Visitors of all ages can see model trains in action and learn about the hobby from local enthusiasts.

Winterfest Party at Spine Beach

Join us as we celebrate Winterfest with our annual beach party and bonfire at Spine Beach from 12:00pm to 3:00pm!

Featuring fun games, music, and free hot dogs and hot chocolate, this event is sure to be an amazing time for the whole family.

Come warm up by the bonfire courtesy of Tex in the Trees. Participate in a Snowshoe Stroll hosted by the Coureurs de Bois or test out some cross country skis. Free cross country ski and snowshoe rentals courtesy of Jack’s Ski and Bike Shack. Free hot chocolate is courtesy of Tim Hortons.

Spine Beach and Transit Route

SOLD OUT - Paint and Sip Party hosted by the North Shore Parent's Association of Dance

 

NSPAD Paint and Sip PartyJoin NSPAD from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Moose Lodge (Oakland Blvd.) for a Valentine's themed Paint & Sip Party!

Entry is $40.00 per person; proceeds help with dance competition fees for all competitive dancers.

Bring the whole family to the Collins Hall to experience Science North's free Science Exhibits from 10:00am to 3:00pm!

Plus—don't miss the special science shows at 11:00am and 2:00pm featuring awesome demonstrations and fun chances for the audience to participate.

Sunday Scavenger Hunt

Are you ready for an exciting adventure? Solve riddles, follow the trail of clues, and race against the clock to complete the challenge!

At 11:00am, the first clue will be posted on the City’s Facebook and Instagram pages. From there, it is up to you to decode each hint, find the next location, and continue through the series of clues. The journey will test your problem-solving skills and sense of adventure.

Everyone who successfully completes the full challenge by 3:00pm will be entered into a draw for prizes.

How It Works:

  • The first clue will be released at 11:00am on the City’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

  • Solve each clue to find the next location.

  • Continue following the clues until you reach the final stop.

  • Complete the challenge before 3:00pm to be entered into the prize draw.

Sharpen your detective skills, gather your friends, and get ready to take on the challenge. Solve the clues before time runs out for your chance to win. Stay tuned for the first clue!

Sled Box Derby hosted by Mt. Dufour Ski Area

The annual Sled Box Derby returns to Mt. Dufour Ski Hill on Sunday, February 8 at 3:00pm. Racers will compete on the Beginner’s Trail using homemade sled boxes.

Sled Box Rules:

  • Cardboard and tape only

  • No wood, added weight, or wax

  • Taping the bottom of the sled is permitted

All participants must arrive no later than 2:45 pm for registration and safety checks.

Bring your creativity, your competitive spirit, and dress warmly—this is one winter event you will not want to miss!

Ski Hill Location and Transit Route

 

Winterfest Drone Show

Winterfest wraps up with a spectacular Drone Show at 7:00pm. This 10 minute show will light up the night sky as drones launch from 151 Ontario Avenue and will display a series of images for everyone to enjoy.

Gather downtown along Ontario Avenue or in the upper and lower parking lots for the best view.

Join us for an unforgettable Winterfest finale!
