Elliot Lake Winterfest is a fun-filled annual celebration of the season, featuring outdoor activities, entertainment, and community events for all ages.

This year's weekend of winter-filled-fun for the whole family took place on February 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

Trivia Night |
Hosted by the Elliot Lake Museum. Come test your knowledge on a variety of topics including some local history for your chance to be named Elliot Lake's next trivia champs! Location: Renaissance Centre, 2 Veteran's Way Times: Doors open at 6pm. Questions begin at 7pm. Bar open from 6pm-11:30pm (cash only). Teams: Up to 8 players per team. Cost: $80 per team |
Winter Carnival Dance hosted by ELIS |

Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge - 171 Spruce Ave. |
The Masons will be holding a breakfast to help kick off day 2 of Winterfest! The breakfast will be from 8am to 10am at the Masonic Lodge and will be $10 per person. |
Park Run at Sheriff's Creek |
Join the local Park Run crew on one of their weekly Saturday morning treks in the beautiful winter scenery of Sheriff Creek. Run, walk, or snowshoe with your friends and other participants for fun or to try and improve your time every week! If you haven't participated in a Park Run before, be sure to register at ParkRun.ca and select "Sheriff Creek Wildlife Sanctuary" as your home run. Participants are asked to please park their cars at the field on Milliken Mine Road, past the Garden Centre, and remember to DRESS WARMLY. |
Coureurs De Bois Snowshoe Stroll at Spine Beach - Open to all |
Join the Coureurs De Bois on a beautiful hike through the wilderness beginning at Spine Beach. Free Snowshoe rentals available. Hike begins at 12pm and ends at 3pm at Spine Beach. |
Spine Beach Fun |
Join us as we celebrate Winterfest with our annual beach party and bonfire at Spine Beach from 12pm to 3pm! Featuring fun games, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, music as well as free hot dogs and hot chocolate, this event is sure to be an amazing time for the whole family. The Municipal Pool will be hosting a free public swim to help celebrate Winterfest! If you haven't had a chance to come see the newly renovated space, now is the perfect chance to come down and check it out while also having an awesome time with the whole family! |
Coldest Night of the Year Fundraiser Walk - Elliot Lake Women's Group |
Join the Elliot Lake Women's Group at 1 College Place for their Coldest Night of the Year Fundraising walk. Check-in begins at 4pm and the walk begins at 5pm. A light meal will be served after the walk at the Grace Christian Centre. The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk that supports local charities like the Elliot Lake Women's Group. Let's change the tune for people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness... because it's cold out there. For more info on the fundraising walk or to donate head to CNOY.org!

Glow in the Dark Outdoor Skating |
Grab your skates and get ready for Glow in the Dark Skating at the Outdoor Rink in Kiwanis Park on Saturday, February 22nd, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Skate to the music, enjoy a hot chocolate provided by Tim Hortons, and light up the night with free glow sticks while supplies last. Bring your friends and family for a fun night on the ice! |

Science North Exhibit and Show |
The perfect way to enjoy the last day of Winterfest! Bring the whole family to the Collins Hall to experience Science North's free Spooktacular Science Exhibits from 9am to 4pm! Plus—don't miss the special science shows at 10am and 2pm featuring awesome demonstrations and fun chances for the audience to participate. Sunday Scavenger Hunt |
Are you ready for an exciting adventure? Solve riddles, follow the trail of clues, and race to uncover the final hidden treasure!
At 11 AM, the first clue will be posted on the City’s Facebook and Instagram pages. From there, it’s up to you to decode each hint, find the next location, and continue the hunt. The journey won’t be easy, but the final treasure—and a special prize—awaits the first to find it!

Winterfest Drone Show |
Winterfest wraps up with a spectacular Drone Show on Sunday, February 23rd, at 7:00 PM. This 12 minute show will light up the night sky as drones launch from 151 Ontario Avenue and will display a series of images for everyone to enjoy. Gather downtown along Ontario Avenue or in the upper and lower parking lots for the best view. This event is proudly sponsored by the City of Elliot Lake and Elliot Lake Retirement Living.
