We operate several different swimming programs at the aquatics centre. Our programs are available for children, youth, adults and seniors and are open for anyone to join. You can choose between drop-in programs and registered swimming programs.

Schedule
Due to the province-wide lockdown beginning December 26, 2020, the Ruben Yli-Juuti Centre will be closed until January 10, 2021, to be reopened January 11, 2021. For more information on our Municipal Holiday Hours, click here.
Drop-in programs

Public swim |
Our public swim program is open to those of all ages. Review our aquatics centre rules before attending a public swim session. |
Distance swim |
During the distance swim program, all six pool lanes are reserved for lane swimming. You must be able to comfortably swim 25 metres in deep water to participate. The whirlpool is open during distance swim programming. To ensure a positive distance swim experience:

Silver Dolphins |
The Silver Dolphins program is geared to meet the needs of seniors. The program is a pool exercise class, led by an instructor. You are able to exercise at your own pace. |
Aquafit and Deep Water Aquafit |
Aquafit is a pool workout, taking place in shallow water. This fast-paced class combines cardio and strength training. You can use pool noodles as weights. The program's focus is strengthening your core, upper and lower body. Deep Water Aquafit is a pool exercise program designed for skilled swimmers who are comfortable in deep water. You can use aqua belts for deep water running and take part in synchronized swimming. The program's focus is on strengthening your core and improving stability. |
Arthritis program |
The arthritis program is a low-impact pool workout led by an instructor in shallow water. The program focuses on relieving joint pain around your fingers, knees and hips and improving overall wellness. |

Swimming lessons |
You can enroll in child, youth or adult swimming lessons at different sessions throughout the year. Certified instructors lead the lessons. They range from Beginner and Tot lessons to Bronze Cross level. You can also register for private lessons. Elliot Lake Aquatics Club (ELAC) |
Children and youth aged 5 to 18 can join the Elliot Lake Aquatics Club (ELAC). The club provides coaching and training in competitive swimming. To join, you must be comfortable swimming in the pool and have basic swimming abilities. ELAC members host and attend swim meets all across Ontario. Masters swimming |
The Elliot Lake Aquatics Club offers a Masters swimming program for adults aged 18 and over. The program runs three seasonal sessions per year during the spring, fall and winter months.
