"Hockey Fun" by Kevin Clancy
Location: Centennial Arena (Pending)
Artist's Description:
Kevin Clancy states that the memories from his hockey days are priceless and that the training he received in that time was invaluable: “the teamwork we learn as kids pays back ten-fold when we enter the workforce. Alone, one can get a lot done but a team that works together can do anything.”
Kevin is very grateful for the community of Elliot Lake for allowing him to follow his dreams and give him and his loved ones a place to call home. He thanks the City of Elliot Lake staff, volunteers, and coaches for all of their help with the arena and hockey programs and to all of the hockey players, Kevin’s message is: “the Championship is yours.”

Location: Symbol Park (Kilborn Way)
Artist's Description: Franc Joubin’s Prospector Tent, in the Nuclear Mining Museum, reminds us of the beginnings of our community.
"Fire Spotters in the Lookout Tower" by Linda Finn
Location: Fire Tower Lookout (Fire Tower Rd.)
Artist's Description: Some local animals are inside the cupola, on the lookout for forest fires, including a moose that has managed to climb up the ladder on the outside of the tower and is clinging to a window frame.
"Dufour Days" by Scarlett McCartney
Location: Mt. Dufour Ski Area
Artist's Description: Whether skiing or snowboarding, Mt Dufour is fun for everyone!
2024 Contest
In August of 2024, the project was continued to help celebrate our Kraft Hockeyville win. The winning panel was unveiled at our September 27th Kraft Hockeyville Community Celebration and will be permanently installed at our Centennial Arena.

This contest was available for all ages and for any resident of the City of Elliot Lake or Serpent River First Nations. Designs must meet the following specifications for consideration in the contest:

Selection Process |
Designs must be submitted by the deadline: September 15th, 2024, at 11:55PM. Al eligible designs will be reviewed by an independent panel on September 16th, 2024, and winning designs will be announced same-day. Artists of winning designs will receive a $100 honourarium and recognition on the finalized panel and at the Kraft Hockeyville Community Celebration on September 27th, 2024. |

2023 Contest
This project was an initiative of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee as part of a public art revitalization plan to bring engaging, interactive pieces to the community, unified under a Woodlands theme.

Adjudication |
A panel of judges comprised of Arts and Culture Advisory Committee members and City Councillors reviewed and scored each submission (provided anonymously). The first round of judging determined a shortlist of 14 pieces, and a second round of judging determined the 5 pieces selected for printing and installation. The artists of the selected pieces were each awarded an honourarium of $100. |

The bears are standing at the trail that can be interpreted as the trail at Sheriff's Creek or the trail to the docks from Westview. |
