2022 ON ICE Ice Fishing ChallengeIce fishing tournament sign up poster

Citizens of Elliot Lake are invited to participate in the 2022 ON ICE Ice Fishing Challenge and compete for cash prizes against other anglers from all across Ontario in this unique, virtual ice fishing derby event. This event is brought to you by Anglers Atlas and the City of Elliot Lake, in association with Canadian Tire and the Elliot Lake Trading Post.

The 2022 ON ICE Ice Fishing Challenge is a month-long, province-wide virtual ice fishing derby held through anglersatlas.com and the MYCATCH phone app. Participants in the challenge may fish in any spot they wish to in and around Elliot Lake, and compete to win prizes against competitors from all across Ontario.
More information on rules and prizes can be found here.

Participants that win a prize will be contacted by Anglers Atlas with instructions on how to claim it.

How It Works

how to steps

A step by step guide on how to register and participate can be found here: How to Guide

Signing Up

Signing up for the challenge is easy. Just create an account on anglersatlas.com and find the ON ICE Ice Fishing Challenge in the tournaments tab. Fill in your phone number and postal code info, and pay your $20 participation fee and that's it--you are all signed up for the challenge!

The next step in the challenge is downloading the free MYCATCH phone app from either the Apple App store or the Google Play Store. After downloading the app, sign in using the same account that you just created on anglersatlas.com and the app will show a blue bar near the top of the screen that shows you are signed up for the challenge.

For a step-by-step visual tutorial on how to sign-up, please watch this YouTube video.
An in depth walkthrough of the entire MYCATCH app can be found here.

proper measuring posterRegistering Your Catches

Once the challenge begins on February 1st, 2022, go to your favourite fishing spot and fish like you normally would. Don't worry--all fishing spots are kept strictly confidential and will not be released to the public. Your favourite secret fishing spot will stay yours.

Every time you want to enter a fish that you've caught into the tournament, simply take a photo of the fish through the MYCATCH app while holding it against a measurement board or a measuring tape. Once you submit the photo, it is officially entered under the account you are signed into. If you are fishing in an area that does not have service coverage, go through the register process as you normally would and your entry will be registered the next time that your phone is connected to the internet.

Each fish picture that is entered into the challenge will undergo a manual review and therefore may take a little time to be verified and to show up on leaderboards.

syncing your entriesFor an in-depth tutorial on how to submit your photos, please watch this YouTube video.

Register all of your best catches before the tournament deadline and see how you stack up against the rest of the province's anglers.
