2023 14th Annual Ice Fishing Derby
The Elliot Lake Ice Fishing Derby is back February 25 2023!
Compete for your opportunity to win cash and prizes. The grand prize is 50% of the purse! The previous winner took home over $21,000. There are also prizes for the top 10 fish plus other great door prizes.
New for 2023! Enter the First On The Ice bonus draw. For an additional $5, you'll be entered in a draw to be the first angler on the ice! Better hurry, bonus draw entries are only available until February 18th at 4pm.
An entry into the Derby makes a great gift! Certificates are available at City Hall Starting December 19th.
Join us at the Collins Hall located at 120 Hillside Drive North after the event from 3:30 to 6:30 to warm up, win a door prize and find out who reeled in the big one. (Due to Collins Hall space limitations access is limited to participants only, up to a capacity of 484.)
How to purchase tickets:
Online ticket sales have now ended.
At City Hall - (CREDIT/DEBIT ACCEPTED) Starting Monday December 19th 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, ticket sales at city hall end Friday Feb. 24th at 2pm
At Retail Partners - (CASH ONLY) Tickets are available for purchase at The Elliot Lake Trading Post, 108 Lifestyle and Sporting Goods, and Jack's Ski and Bike Shack. Retail partner tickets are available until Friday Feb. 24th until 2pm
Registrations are also available at Collins Hall Friday Feb. 24th from 3-8pm and Saturday Feb. 25th from 8am to 11:30am.
Important Details:
After you purchase your registration you must pick up your event ticket with your entry number before you will be allowed on the ice. Event tickets can be picked up at the Collins Hall on Friday Feb. 24th from 3-8pm and on Saturday Feb. 25th from 8am to 11:30am. You must bring your I.D. and Fishing License if applicable.
Event takes place on Horne Lake in Elliot Lake.
A valid fishing licence is required to compete if you are between the ages of 18 to 65 and do not have a Status Card. You can purchase a licence on line, at Service Ontario or a local issuing location.
Purchase your tickets in advance to get on the ice sooner! Participants will be granted entry to the Fish Derby area as
follows; The first 100 entries will be allowed on the ice at 09:00 a.m. ; 101 – 200 entries will be allowed on the ice at 09:30 a.m.; 201
– 300 entries will be allowed on the ice at 10:00 a.m. and the tickets 301 – 400 will be allowed on the ice at 10:30 a.m. All other
entries will have access to the ice at 11:00 a.m.
Anglers are able to purchase up to 2 holes
Registrations are non transferable. Registrations must be purchased in the name of the participant. Registrations are available on-line, at City Hall and at select retailers until February 23rd at 4:30pm. See regulation # 28 in the full rules for cancellation/refund policy.
On-Site event registration and event tag pick up occurs on Friday February 24 (3pm -8pm) and Saturday February 25 (8am - 11:30am). Bring your Ticket, ID and Fishing licence (if applicable) to Collins Hall to register and receive your numbered badge.
