The Boreal Forest Run is an easy-to-moderate, 47 km route that starts along the expansive and open power line and connects to the Portage Run or Boardwalk Run to connect back to the city or extend the ride.

Route Details

A great time to explore this trail is in the fall when the leaves are many different colours. You can see spectacular vistas from some hilltops that provide great fall colour viewing.

The power line leads to an old growth forest with many pine trees, stumps, exposed roots, yellow birch trees (in the fall) and slopes covered in wildflowers. This is rare to see along typical ATV paths in Ontario.

Features

  • Wide open views along the power line
  • Excellent fall colours
  • Gullbeak lookout
  • Large pine forests
  • Easy road base and bridge crossings
