The Boardwalk Run is an easy-to-moderate, 41 km trail loop developed by the Elliot Lake ATV Club. It is the main link to the Boreal Forest Run and the Portage Run and wraps tightly around the city. You can find excellent scenery, great views across Horne Lake and Elliot Lake, and great water crossings that make the trail feel isolated.
Route details
Once outside the city, the Boardwalk Run follows the power line trail, showing off expansive vistas. At the river joining Elliot Lake and Quimby Lake, you will find a popular photo spot at two bridges. The scene is even more impressive when the water levels are high. Here, you can access high rocks with a great view - perfect for picnics, camping, fishing or resting.
You can exit the trail at many spots before difficult areas. One path leads to Elliot Lake's public beaches.
The latter part of the trail is narrow and moderately difficult due to its rugged terrain. Experienced riding is encouraged. The trail accesses a boardwalk, which was built to restore water follow and preserve the natural environment close to the city, while allowing for ATV access.
