The Elliot Lake Public Library fishing program lets you sign out a rod and reel and an assortment of tackle the same way you borrow library materials.
Show your library card at the circulation desk to sign out rods and tackle for up to one week. The fine for overdue fishing equipment is $1 per day per kit, to a maximum of $20 per kit. There are no renewals on fishing equipment.
Children 15 and under must have permission from a parent or guardian.
Elliot Lake visitors
If you don't have a library card, you can sign out fishing equipment using a patron's card, only with their permission. Another option is to purchase a visitor's library card for $15. This card allows you to borrow from the library for a period of six months.
About the program
The fishing program was created for people who want to experience the excitement of fishing, but don't have access to fishing equipment.
We offer this service in partnership with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. All fishing gear was generously donated through their TackleShare program.
