Welcome to the Elliot Lake Fire Department! Our goal is to provide fire prevention and fire emergency response services for the protection of lives, property and the environment.
About our service
Fire protection is funded and serviced by the City of Elliot Lake. The Fire Protection and Prevention Act outlines our role. You can also visit the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), which provides useful information about safety regulations and the impact of fire in your community.

Our Fire Department members include:
- Fire Chief
- Emergency Management Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to the Chief
- 19 firefighters, including nine full-time members and 11 volunteer members
Equipment and vehicles
The Fire Department's equipment and vehicles include:
- Two fire pumpers
- One 95-foot platform, aerial ladder fire truck
- Two four-wheel drive trucks
- One all-terrain vehicle or ATV (bush fire handling)
- One 16-foot boat (search and rescue and cottage lot protection)
- Fire Chief's truck
