The Corporation of the City of Elliot Lake is seeking dedicated, community-minded individuals to join the Elliot Lake Fire Service as Paid Volunteer Firefighters. This is a unique opportunity to serve your community, develop emergency response skills, and work as part of a highly trained and supportive team.

Minimum qualifications are as follows:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Hold a valid Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record
  • Have reliable access to a vehicle to respond quickly to emergency scenes
  • Be familiar with the streets and neighbourhoods of Elliot Lake
  • Able to follow direction from Fire Department officers with professionalism
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Capable of performing calmly and effectively under stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Willing and able to participate fully in all required Fire Service training and certification
  • Able to pass annual department physical fitness test
  • Able to pass a vulnerable sector criminal background check
  • Able to pass a medical examination and be confirmed fit for duty by a qualified physician
