TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Elliot Lake will hold a public meeting on the 27th day of October 2025, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at 45 Hillside Drive North and/or by Zoom.
Any person interested may, by way of signed, written submission, provide comments on the proposed Amendments. Such submission shall be accepted by the City Clerk prior to the Hearing by October 22nd, 2025 and such written submissions shall be available for inspection by any interested person. If you wish to attend and/or provide comments at the Public Meeting, please contact the Clerk’s Department at (705) 848-2287 ext. 2103 or at clerk@elliotlake.ca
The purpose of this public meeting is to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act for the property municipally known as 255 Highway 108 in the City of Elliot Lake. The effect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the affected property from the ‘Institutional, Special Exception (I-3)’ to the ‘Tourist Highway Commercial (C2)’ Zone.
The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is also to add the “clinic” use to all the Commercial Zones (C1, C2, C3, and C4). This affects all properties in the City that are in a Commercial Zone.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Council of the City of Elliot Lake on the proposed Amendment, you must make a written request to the City of Elliot Lake.
IF A person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the City of Elliot Lake to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Elliot Lake before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON or PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at the Public Meeting, or make written submissions to the City of Elliot Lake before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
