City Fills Some Key Staff Vacancies

The City of Elliot Lake has filled some key vacancies at senior staff levels.

Jeff Truman will be the City’s next Chief Building Official. Mr. Truman was raised in Elliot Lake and is bringing with him years of experience as a professional civil engineer, designer and business owner.

Karilynn (Kari) Kluke will take on the role of Director of Recreation and Culture, filling a vacancy at the Director level since the summer of 2020. As a former lifeguard at the municipal pool and beaches, Ms. Kluke is no stranger to Elliot Lake’s recreational assets. She brings with her experience in various management roles in recreational departments of municipalities in Eastern Canada and Northwestern Ontario.

Elliot Lake’s CAO Daniel Gagnon noted: “we are elated with the caliber of former Elliot Lakers returning to their home town to bring their skills and experience to help Elliot Lake in this critical rebuilding time. I look forward to working with both Jeff and Kari and have no doubt the community will benefit greatly from their perspective and experience”.

Both new staff will begin their duties on Monday January 17th.
